The project’s pump‑gate is located in Caijia Village, Zhaotun Town, Qingpu District, Shanghai. It connects to the Wusong River in the north and links to the Dianpu River in the south, serving as a key waterway within Qingpu District. The newly constructed pump‑gate comprises a 15 m³/s bidirectional pumping station and a 12‑meter regulating sluice. Its primary functions are flood control and drainage, water diversion to improve the aquatic environment, and support for navigation.

The pumping station is equipped with three bidirectional submersible tubular pumps, each with a design flow rate of 5 m³/s, a forward‑direction design head of 1.6 m, and a reverse‑direction design head of 1.0 m. The associated permanent‑magnet motors have a rated power of 250 kW, operate at 380 V, and are designed for a speed of 241 r/min; they are paired with ABB ACS800 low‑voltage variable‑frequency drives. The project was completed in August 2016.
